You will get cheap rooms and one of the nicer pools in town. Time and bigger resorts have reduced this once glittering hotel to a second rate property, even this use to be the “Island Of Las Vegas”. The Tropicana Casino and Hotel had to keep up because standards when up elsewhere but you can still find a very good place to stay at an unbelievable price.
At the Tropicana Casino and Hotel, you might like the pool and the gardens; it is a fun place to spend a sunny afternoon in Las Vegas. They still can compete with some of the big toys. The negative review says that the casino feels smaller than ever when compared to its neighbors, the rooms do show their age. It often feels like an overstuffed trailer because they cram so much in to so little.
To a number of other well-known celebrities, over the next couple of decades the Tropicana played host. Count Basie, Jack Benny and Sammy Davis Jr all headlines at the Tropicana, to name just a few. To include a private golf course next door to the hotel The Tropicana Casino and Hotel expanded its entertainment offering in 1961.
